- Description: Nowadays, customer services throughout the globe are mostly produced and provided through Public-Private Partnership and this industry continues to. The aim of this study was to review literature on Public-Private Partnership. A desktop method was undertaken in this study in order to present literature that focused on critical elements associated with Public-Private Partnership. In this way, secondary data regarding Public-Private Partnership was analysed. The sample of literature used in this study ranged from the year 2007 to year 2017. Through the search, 199 articles were identified by. Out of the 199 identified articles, 78 were duplicate articles hence were excluded. The literature review revealed that the articles that refer to Public-Private Partnerships covered the benefits, challenges as well as factors leading to PPP. The recommendations brought forward for this study were: The use of technological skills expertise should not be single sided; there should be mutual learning between the private sector and the public sector; both sectors ought to invest in technology upgrades and skill advancement for their employees in order to be aligned with the global needs; both sectors need to be politically stable before they engage on a partnership to enhance the success of Public-Private Partnership; Although service delivery is cheaper and faster in PPP’s, the quality of the service should not be compromised; the PPPs stakeholders should analyse the current environment to check feasibility before international strategies are adopted; both sectors should engage in an agile scrum meeting to discuss response to possible clashes before partnership commences.

- Description: Public-Private Partnerships developed in the 1980`s mainly associated with privatising and laissez faire concept and it emerged with the leadership of Regan in the USA and Thatcher in the UK. During this period the role of national governments was intensely debated (Deloitte, 2010). These debates generated the notion of New Public Management theory, that tried to use competitive techniques and certain free market principles within government entities that considered the involvement of the free enterprise in the provision of government service delivery (Kaberuka, 2011). Public-Private Partnerships are a vital component; it is the main reason why they were recognized significantly particularly during the 1990s, predominantly in first world countries and subsequently in developing countries. Basically a Public Private Partnership (PPP) denotes a legal agreement between the public sector and a private enterprise (Kaberuka, 2011). It aims to unite the ability of both public and private sector in manner that will ensure that neither of the side execute the plan on its own. Under this binding agreement, the expertise and wealth, assets of both public and private sector procedure of decision-making are used mutually during the provision of public services or facilities. Both of these parties carry the risk associated, as well as the benefits that will be accrued from the projects. There are particular reasons why the public sector prefers PPPs. These include reduction of the total costs and the primary expenditure that will allow the private sector to help in the elimination of the expenditures to be incurred. (Reynaers et al, 2014). Some of the reasons include the lack of government managerial competencies and certain technical expertise. Furthermore, efficient and novelty in the delivering of public services and goods mainly due to the ability of private sector to have leadership and managerial competencies that allow the provision of supplementary benefits in the PPP in contradictory to conventional projects. (Reynaers et al, 2014). PPPs also ensure competitiveness between the private and public sector entities, which encourage the elimination of unnecessary expenses and the provision of standard services. One of the main characteristics of PPPs is the amalgamating and generation provision of particular public services (Raja et al, 2011). This mean that the particular private entity will execute both projects. Hence therefore, it will have less commitment pertaining to the prioritization of the construction phase, given the fact that it will accrue rewards in the future, particularly during the operation stage. (Raja et al, 2011). This mechanism is pragmatic if the magnitude of service that has to be provided when the quality of service that has to be provided can be precisely be depicted and examined during the course of contractual legal discussion between the two parties. Facilities are usually transferred to the public sector after a pre-determined period. The responsibilities of public and private sector must be specified during the discussion of the contractual agreement. The public participant should the assume the responsibility for establishing social benefit of a project, facilitating with influential decision makers, evaluation of standards, guaranteeing the interests of the public, consequently it should also assume the financial unprofitability of investments, the approximation of the expenditure and sup ply of fundamental information pertaining the projects (Heald et al, 2011). Public-private partnership is a relationship that necessitates the inclusion of both stakeholders which include the private and public sector. PPPs are perceived as solution for effective provision of social infrastructure that is vital for economic development and consistency in both developing and developing worlds (Heald et al 2011). Factors influencing consumer decision-making process in the private health institutions

- Description: The development that has taken place in the health care sector includes all factors that have brought changes in the consumer decision-making process regarding the private health institutions. In Nigeria, the development is evident in the delivery of the health care services. This indicates that the private health institutions deliver quality health care service by using efficient and quality medical equipment. However, there is a growing awareness among clients to perform an extensive search before the purchase of health care service and the increased expectation from health care quality by clients and their family. The change in consumer behaviour has caused a shift in the consumer decision-making process due to the availability of several sources of information and various health institutions they can choose from. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence the consumer decision-making process that can enhance customer satisfaction and reduce cognitive dissonance. In this study the behaviour of consumers is related to how they make decisions along several stages before they make a purchase and in a health care setting the decision-making process refers to the process that clients pass through in making choices on alternative health institutions. The quantitative research method was adopted in this study in describing, analysing and interpreting data. A structured questionnaire was employed to collect primary data from 450 respondents in Lagos state, Nigeria. The primary data was statistically analysed using five stages, namely, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach‟s alpha reliability testing, descriptive statistics, multiple regression analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis. The empirical results of this study indicates that service encounter experience, personal income and support sources are significantly related to the decision-making process. The decision-making process also has significant positive relationship with both customer satisfaction and cognitive dissonance. This indicates that influential factors that have been identified through the empirical results enlighten researchers and the private health institutions on issues that influence the clients‟ decisions to utilise private health institutions. The well-being and satisfaction of clients will be enhanced if the private health institutions can craft effective strategies that will enable clients to gain easy access and utilise health care services. This study emphasised that access to and utilisation of health care services in the private health institutions can be granted to clients through personal income and support sources from family members and private health institutions. Futhermore, health insurance coverage is an effective way that will help clients overcome the financial constraints and restricted access to and utilisation of private health institutions. The study further reveals that the well-being and satisfaction of clients will be enhanced if private health institutions improve access to quality health care. Failure to improve the overall quality and performances of the health care services in the private health institutions can lead to clients‟ cognitive dissonance. Both private and public health institutions should play a major role in providing the necessary facilities that can assist the clients in their decision-making process regarding their health care needs. This will enable the health care institutions‟ staff to understand what clients value and need and, therefore, how well to satisfy them and reduce cognitive dissonance. Easy access and utilisation of the private health institutions as well as satisfaction in quality health care delivery will create better health outcomes for the workforce and citizens of a country and this will improve economic development.
